Voile appeases snow God by sponsoring Save Our Canyons’ Ullr Ball.

Salt Lake City, Utah - This year, in a shameless attempt to lobby Ullr, the mythical Norse God of Snow, Voilé Manufacturing is joining forces with local environmental non-profit Save Our Canyons by sponsoring its annual fundraiser and pray-for-snow event—Ullr Ball. On Saturday, November 9th at 8 PM, ski bums, winter enthusiasts, and lovers of the Wasatch from Utah and beyond will gather at The Garage on Beck to usher in a new snow season in style.

Guests can look forward to enjoying libations generously provided by Uinta Brewing Company, live music from David Williams and Triggers and Slips, an opportunity drawing for a chance to win a pair of award-winning V8 skis and an Artisan splitboard from Voilé along with other great gear from top outdoor companies, and food specials provided by The Garage. Tickets are $25 in advance at www.saveourcanyons.org/ullrball or $30 at the door, and all proceeds benefit Save Our Canyons. The Garage on Beck is located at 1199 North Beck Street SLC, UT 84103. Sorry kids, 21 and older only.

For the past 41 years, Save Our Canyons has worked tirelessly to protect the beauty and wildness of the Wasatch canyons, mountains, and foothills. Naturally, supporting them is a no-brainer for Voilé. Sponsoring the 2013 Ullr Ball is just the latest example of Voilé showing its love for Save Our Canyons, and the Wasatch they have both vowed to protect.

About Voile

In 1991Brett "Cowboy" Kobernik brought a crude prototype of the first splitboard to Mark "Wally" Wariakois, the founder of Voile. At the time Wally was intensely focused on innovating new backcountry ski and telemark binding designs, but he saw the future of backcountry snowboarding in Cowboy's crude design.

Over the next few years, Cowboy and Wally refined this idea and in 1994 released the first DIY Voile Split Kit. This was the beginning of the splitboard revolution. For the first time riders had a truly innovative and easier way to access backcountry powder.

Voile went on to develop and produce a more refined, adjustable, Voile splitboard interface and Voile splitboard insert pattern. This is the foundation for all Voile splitboards and other splitboard brands that have followed.

Today, Voile is as committed to the growth and innovation of splitboarding as those exciting early days. From the beginning, Voile splitboards and Voile splitboard hardware is proudly made in Salt Lake City, Utah USA.
